
Rebecca “Becky” Erdmann
August 25th, 1958 – May 25th, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that the MS Alliance of Virginia family mourns the passing of our dear community member, Rebecca “Becky” Erdmann, who was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the age of 66. Becky was a vibrant and loving soul whose presence enriched us all.
Becky was a cherished and active member of the MS Alliance, consistently advocating for and supporting others within our community. Her dedication to making a difference in the lives of those affected by MS was truly inspiring. Beyond her involvement with the Alliance, Becky found immense joy in spending quality time with her family, especially her granddaughter Gabby. Her faith in Jesus was a guiding light throughout her life, and she loved attending church.
Known for her friendly and warm nature, Becky truly never met a stranger. Whether at the grocery store or Famous Anthony’s, she had a remarkable ability to connect with people and make friends wherever she went. She was a true homebody who enjoyed reading, relaxing at home, and watching TV.
A funeral service celebrating Becky’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Oakey’s South Chapel, with Rev. Shaun Minnix officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Oakey’s South Chapel. Becky’s warmth, advocacy, and unwavering spirit will be profoundly missed by all of us at the MS Alliance of Virginia. We are grateful for her contributions to our community and will carry her memory in our hearts.

Gail Butler
August 8, 1949 ~ May 23, 2025
We are saddened to share the passing of our beloved community member, Gail Kathryn Butler, who passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025.
Gail was a truly special and beloved individual who brought light to everyone she met. A dedicated volunteer, Gail generously gave her time to community hospitals, including Johnston Memorial, where she worked alongside her cherished therapy dog, Abby, at the cancer center.
Beyond her remarkable career, Gail embraced life with passion. She was an avid sailor who explored the Caribbean, a downhill skiing enthusiast, and a devoted trainer of therapy dogs. Her Golden Retrievers, Abby and Teddy, were truly the loves of her life.
Gail’s spirit of giving and her deep commitment to those around her touched countless lives. She will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the joy she brought to our community.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her memory on June 7, 2025, at Pleasant View Church in Abingdon, VA at 6:00 p.m., with family and friends gathering from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Alliance of Virginia (MSAV).
