World MS Day was first initiated in 2009 by the MS International Federation (MSIF) and its member organizations. It takes place on May 30th every year and aims to:

  • Raise awareness: Increase global understanding of multiple sclerosis (MS), its impact on individuals and families, and the need for research and support.
  • Connect the community: Foster connections and solidarity among people living with MS, their families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals worldwide.
  • Advocate for change: Promote better access to treatment, care, and support services for people with MS, and advocate for policies that improve their quality of life.

Since its inception, World MS Day has grown into a global movement, with hundreds of events and campaigns taking place each year. It has become a platform for sharing stories, raising funds, and driving change in the lives of millions affected by MS.
