This yoga class is designed specifically for people living with MS. Yoga can be a practice that an individual living with MS can use to help manage the symptoms and physical, mental, and emotional stresses that come with navigating this condition. Using mindful movement, breathwork, and meditation practices students will be guided through embodied explorations to help reduce stress and fatigue, build their energetic “bank account” and resilience, and enhance flexibility , stability, and balance in body & mind. No previous yoga experience necessary. To find out more about Yoga and MS please visit this article from the National MS Society: CLICK HERE
The 1-hr practice will be structured in a way that participants can do the entire practice seated or a combination of seated, standing and on the floor. As MS symptoms can be as diverse as the unique people it affects and to help us craft the practice in a way that best supports student’s needs, please consider filling out this brief questionnaire. Our therapeutic adaptive yoga class will be facilitated by Jennifer Speiden who is a certified yoga therapist and has a MS in Physical Therapy. You can find out more about her by visiting her website Inner Awareness. (http://www.innerawareness.net)
