Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Do you want to be the representative in your county, town, or city to bring awareness to your community? Every March we reach out for Proclamations declaring March as MS Awareness Month. The MS Alliance of Virginia’s, Denise Ellis, has spearheaded this project for many years with great success, while also living with her own challenges with MS. Get involved today by contacting Denise Ellis at 434-426-2908 or send an email to to be guided through this simple process that brings more awareness to your community.

Proclamations are issued by a governing body to recognize the importance of community awareness. During a recent Proclamation request from the MSAV, the city council in Washington County, Virginia started a conversation they did not know needed to be had in regards to meeting the needs of people living with MS and other disabilities at a rest area along a local hiking trail. You, to can make a difference.

If you have any ideas or stories you would like to share, email the MSAV at
